WP1. Project Management

D1.4 Data Management Plan -This plan ensures that all research data generated complies with the FAIR principles: findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. It follows the template provided by the European Commission establishing the guidelines for an appropriate management of the information generated inside the project.
D1.5 Data Management PlanFinal version -This deliverable document (D1.5) sets up the final version of the DataManagement Plan, updating the original D1.4 (original data management)through a comprehensive revision of its sections.

WP2. End-of-life LIBs Collection and Characterisation, Digital Tools and Battery Passports deployment

D2.1 End-of-life battery value chain and data issues: current situation and future perspectives - Report on EOL battery value chain current situation and future perspectives according to the developments of upcoming European Directives. Identification of available information in order to establish procedures for data exchange.
D2.2 Best practices and optimisation of LIBs packaging, collection and logistics - Analysis and study of current best practices in packaging, collection and transport of lithium batteries.
D2.3 Report on electrochemical testing of new, spent and recycled cells - Report on the comparison of electrochemical performance of the cells in different conditions. Classification of the tested spent cells whether they are suitable for a second life or ready for recycling.
D2.4 Report on pre- and post- recycling materials characterization - This technical report illustrates the results obtained from the characterization of the active materials before and after the recycling process, giving insights on the behaviour observed at cell level and on the recycling process.
D2.7 Validation and analysis of physics-based and data-driven models for cells and recycling process - The scope of this report is to provide insight in the development, tuning and validation of both physics-based and data-driven models of recycling processes developed along the FRE4LIB project and physics-based models of the characterized cells.
D2.8 Battery Passport Platform (Version I) - First version of the Battery Passport platform deployed and validated in a controlled environment.
D2.9 Battery Passport Platform (Version II) - Second version of the Battery Passport platform integrated with all the processes, systems and devices that should be part of the traceability process of a battery providing information about it during its lifecycle.
D2.10 Battery Passport Platform (Version III) - Third and final report on the design, development and validation of the FREE4LIB Battery Passport Platform.
D2.11 Health analysis results and 2nd life battery description - Report showing the results of the state of health evaluation performed at cell level and a description of the 2nd life battery assembled.

WP3. Recycling technologies and materials re-using for Li- batteries

D3.3 Development, testing and validation of recycling solutions for cathode and black mass at lab-scale - Report on the development and validation of processes at lab-scale for the useful recycling cathode and black mass.
D3.4 Report on plastic materials recovered and properties characterization. - Report describing the techniques applied for screening the different types of polymeric materials, separation process and properties characterization by means of laboratory essays and testing.
D3.5 Report on metal reuse as raw powder for Additive Manufacturing -This report describes the metallic powder valorisation by means of production of aluminium alloys raw powder by centrifugal atomisation, in comparison with conventional gas atomisation, and the printability and properties obtained using such raw material in Selective Laser Melting.
D3.7 Results of recovered materials harnessing in other fields - Report describing viability of use of recovered metals in enamels and ceramic pigments.
D3.8 Laboratory results and methodology to scale-up technologies - Development of the methodology to scale-up recycling technologies for cathode and black mass from the lab-scale results.

WP4. Scaling and validation of feasible technologies

D4.5 FREE4LIB battery pack design, Battery Manufacturing, Assembly and its Validation report - This deliverable describes the validation of the tasks selected to be demonstrated in laboratory conditions.

WP5. Impact assessment and Battery Passport

D5.3 Design for Sustainability Guidelines - The document first introduces the principles of sustainable battery design andreviews the current regulatory framework driving eco-design requirements forlithium-ion batteries. It then presents the environmental implications identifiedthrough the Life Cycle Assessment. The recycling pathways developed within FREE4LIBare subsequently analysed to identify the design features that facilitatedismantling, material recovery and closed-loop manufacturing.
D5.4 FREE4LIB Battery Passport Concept - This report comprises the data model of the digital battery passport platform that can close the information gap between a battery’s BOL and EOL phases. In addition, it will provide a clear definition of user requirements, roles and access rights.

WP6. Communication,Dissemination, Exploitation and Engagement activities

FREE4LIB's Policy recomendations - Enabling a circular lithium-Ion battery ecosystem for Europe’s strategic autonomy goals This set of learning from FREE4LIB's research is tailored for policymakers. It lays out ways to develop a more cohesive and coherent approach to the Li-batteries design, recovery and recycling, use of secondary raw materials.
