Throughout the past months, our consortium has attended several high level events where they showcased the project’s research, here is a recap :
AIMPLAS’ workshop on plastics recycling
On 10-11 December 2025, our partner AIMPLAS held a workshop bringing together international experts, researchers, and industry stakeholders to share the latest developments in plastics recycling, with a focus on mechanical and chemical recycling technologies, regulatory trends, and innovative circular economy solutions.
The workshop provided an overall view of the FREE4LIB project, covering its excellence, technological objectives, and project concept, with a focus on dissemination of the activities carried out by AIMPLAS. Our partner showed how the FREE4LIB project contributes with solutions to the current challenges of the plastics sector and how it aligns with plastics recycling policies, particularly within the automotive sector.

The Battery Innovation Days
On 2–3 December 2025, our partners CARTIF and Recyclia were present at the Cluster Hub for production of raw materials for batteries from European resources' stand, where FREE4LIB was represented alongside fellow EU-funded initiatives to engage with stakeholders.

Cluster Hub for production of raw materials for batteries from European resources
On 20 November 2025, the battery recycling research community gathered in Brussels for the annual meeting of the dedicated Cluster Hub. Our coordinator Juan Castro Bustamante presented the FREE4LIB project, and Olga Karline Henkele from our partner Kellen chaired a roundtable on the integration of sustainability practices and policy-making to address current challenges and future prospects in battery materials recycling.
